Mistakes make the best life lessons.
But you don’t have to wait for your students to make their own. They can learn from mine instead.
It’s tough to be a teen. Each and every day, students at your school struggle with peer pressure, bullying, drugs and alcohol, family problems, and mental health issues. Many of them wonder if they’ll ever be able to push through the pain they’re experiencing. And all of them are tempted with choices that can lead them down the wrong path and change their life forever.
A 6’6″ and 300lb Man Who Felt the Same Way
I know how your students feel and what they’re dealing with. How? I used to be just like them.
I had the opportunity of a lifetime to play Division I football for Michigan State University. But my talent went to waste because I didn’t have the character to go along with it. Being an athlete in the spotlight led me down a path toward alcohol, partying, and jail. And I lost my dream of playing in the NFL because of it.
I’ve personally experienced the consequences of making bad decisions that change the course of your life forever. I also know that no matter how bad things are, you can pull yourself out of the darkness and create a life of purpose.
It took a lot of hard work and determination, but I battled my way back from addiction and depression to build a career as a hip hop artist and motivational speaker. And now I share my story with students across the US just like yours.
“After 20+ years of loving kids through school assemblies, I have seen many communicators and performers through the years. From the heart, I recommend you utilize; a skilled voice for our current generation, a heart that will bring true impact, and practical insights that will change lives. That’s who Bobby is. If you choose to schedule him for your event or school assembly, you will rebook him again and again.” – Chad Furlong, iTHINKBIG
The Message You Know Your Students Need
You know what your students need. You know they need to be empowered, encouraged, and inspired by someone they look up to. They need to know why it’s so important to take ownership of their lives today so they can conquer the pain they’re feeling and stop themselves from going down the wrong road. They also need to understand the consequences of bad decisions and the power of making the right choices.
It doesn’t have to be hard to help them see it. You don’t need to plaster your halls with motivational posters or spend lots of time preparing weekly lesson plans. You just need to get their attention with a powerful message of turning pain into purpose.
A Living Breathing Example of Pain into Purpose
I give students a living, breathing example of what happens when you let life control you instead of stepping up to the plate to control your own life. Using my experiences as a hip hop artist and former athlete, I show students that the decisions they make today (both good and bad) will affect their lives for years to come. I also help them see that just because they’re in pain today doesn’t mean that tomorrow can’t be better.
With encouragement, motivation, and guidance, I give them the tools they need to rise above the challenges they face both inside and outside the classroom.
Your students have so much to give to the world. Help them gain the power to take control of their lives, make good choices, and push through the pain. You can do it. I’m here to help.
Are you ready to empower your students to make the right choices?
